Test Pressures

Test Pressures
The National Plumbing Code specifies that installed pipework is to be tested to the following pressures at ambient temperature
Service Pressure
Cold Water 1500 kPa for a minimum of 30 minutes
Hot Water (excluding container or water heater) 1500 kPa for a minimum of 30 minutes
Sanitary Plumbing Hydrostatic test to flood level or Air test at 30 kPa for 3 minutes minimum
It is strongly recommended that installed pipework be tested prior to burial or concealment. Adherence to this procedure will facilitate the location and repair of any leak exposed by the pressure test.
