Test Pressures
| Test Pressures | |
|---|---|
| The National Plumbing Code specifies that installed pipework is to be tested to the following pressures at ambient temperature | |
| Service | Pressure |
| Cold Water | 1500 kPa for a minimum of 30 minutes |
| Hot Water (excluding container or water heater) | 1500 kPa for a minimum of 30 minutes |
| Sanitary Plumbing | Hydrostatic test to flood level or Air test at 30 kPa for 3 minutes minimum |
| It is strongly recommended that installed pipework be tested prior to burial or concealment. Adherence to this procedure will facilitate the location and repair of any leak exposed by the pressure test. | |
